Southern Fighting Championship No-Gi Submission Series

The first in the SFC Grappling Submission series is a No-Gi, Sub only, round robin event. The aim of this event is to give the talented grapplers of the Illawarra from all codes and experience levels an opportunity to test their submission game in a supportive, competitive environment.

RULES - SUBMISSION ONLY GRAPPLING 

The first in the SFC Grappling Submission series is a No-Gi, Sub only, round robin event. The aim of this event is to encourage grapplers from all codes and experience levels to test their submission game in a supportive, competitive environment. 

Win by Submission- 3 points 

Win by decision - 1 point 

Loss - 0 points 

All matches are 5 mins 

Matches with no submissions will be decided by referee; 

> Most submission attempts 

> or most dominant player

Referees decision is final. 

Normal Divisions are round robin with elimination for absolutes, Equal points at the end of the division will result in a single elimination round. 

All competitors must be 18+

Not Permitted: Slamming, deliberate striking, unsportsmanlike conduct from competitors or teams. See also Permitted Techniques

Entries close Sunday 16th of October or when division is full. 

Weigh in from 8am opens until 60 minutes before your scheduled division start time.

Divisions will be released 48 hours before event.

DIVISIONS 

Novice, Intermediate, Advanced

The competition divisions and order will be divided by weight and experience level of the competitors. Weight divisions can be combined by the promotion, and competitors will be notified prior to the event.

Novice competitors are considered to have under a combined 2 years of submission grappling training (or other grappling disciplines). Intermediate competitors have between 2 and 4 years of submission grappling training and experience. Advanced is 4+ years of submission grappling training (or similar disciplines) and experience. Anyone who is a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu MUST compete in intermediate or higher, and anyone who is a purple belt or higher in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu MUST compete in the advanced division.

UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS

Rashguards must be worn, shorts or spats are appropriate. Mouthguards are mandatory. 

RISK AND INSURANCE

The competitor and/or their guardian acknowledges and agrees that the competitor shall be responsible to obtain all or any insurance for loss and/or medical, hospital, life, income protection, personal, property, or any other risk or damage that the competitor may cause or suffer, (whether directly or indirectly) and the competitor covenants that he acknowledges that any failure by the competitor to fully insure himself against any accident, damage, injury, loss, whatsoever, howsoever arising shall be solely at the risk of the competitor.

MEDICAL SUPPORT

All events have the appropriate qualified medical support for immediate treatment.
