Season Format
Our tournaments will be operated as a season. Just like rugby, basketball, and other major sports, the participants will accumulate regular-season points by placing at events throughout the year.
Points gained from each tournament will be added up to give athletes rankings for each division and belt-level as the season progresses.
Not only will rankings be crucial for trying to claim the bragging rights of #1 spot in your division, but they will also be rewarded. Top-ranked athletes from each division will receive more favourable matchups at National Grappling League's Nationals, similar to Rugby or Basketball playoff seedings, and they will also have opportunities for super fights at the National Grappling League Season Finale Invitational.
We are aiming to be offering prizes throughout the season, including cash, and those winning the top spots at the big events will walk away with a lot more than a medal.
So whether you are wanting the bragging rights of baddest pound-for-pound grappler in the country or the title of #1 white belt in your weight class to plead your case for your blue belt (sorry in advance coaches), this system has it all.
Gold medal: 5pts
Silver medal: 3pts
Bronze medal: 2pts
